Discover These Hills of Gold

San Francisco’s These Hills of Gold are just getting started, which is why you’ll find nary a drop of ink on the band. Photos, either. In a world where everybody’s all up in your biz, These Hills of Gold have managed the impossible—maintaining an air of mystery … ya know, like those bands you worshiped in the ’60s and ’70s.

Yes, the only thing you get is the music—imagine that. Led by Jefferson Parker THoG have just released their debut 45 RPM on Happy Parts Recordings, which features four brilliant, sunny pop tunes that will take you back to another time. “Free Association” is one of the best songs of 2010 if I don’t opine my damn self, a vintage tune that works in some ’60s pop with early Elvis Costello rawk (and some great, slinky organ). Needless to say I’m looking forward to the band’s full-length due out this July. No need to get aimlessly verbose (although I will if put in a corner). Dig in!

Are you smoking drugs? Thats pretty good but certainly not the best of the year. Have you heard Mumford and Sons?
