Helms Alee loves the ’90s

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 | musiX

If you’re of a certain age (class of ‘91!), then you’ll have no trouble figuring out what the new vid for Helms Alee’s “8/16″ is all about. The Washington trio enlisted Andrew James Cox, and with the help of a Kickstarter campaign, filmed and assembled the clip in and around Seattle and Olympia. It’s an homage to Beavis & Butthead and all of the bands and videos they loved or hated. Mike Judge would be proud.

Think you know who they’re spoofing? Leave it in the comments section and win the admiration of others. Helms Alee’s destructive, explosive double-album Weatherhead is out now on Hydra Head Records. That’s NOW!

Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Metallica, RHCP, NWA, GNR, Pearl Jam, Ozzy/Lita Ford. I think I missed one.

Kick ass track, though.
