Snap! Crackle! Rock!

A friend of mine asked me last night if I had seen the Rolling Stones Rice Krispies commercial. I thought the Stones—in their waning career—had finally shilled for a cereal ad. Turns out it was recorded back in 1963. Of course, this was very early on in what would become a looooong career for Mick and the boys. I must say it rocks … we need more bluesy bar bands doing cereal commercials. And the lyric: “Pour on the milk-a-licious to the crackle of that rice.” Brilliant.

They just played this song on “Talk of the Nation” today. The topic was bands selling out - recently exemplified by the Black Eyed Peas and their Target ad.
