Delorean remix
This band could be your neighbor: part 3

Every time I walk by the gray van, I pause and look on the dashboard—sometimes not so subtly—for any possible clue as to who this band is. A piece of mail. A note. Anything. They’re probably watching me from their apartment, wondering what the hell I’m up to. They’re just lucky most of the van’s windows are tinted.
I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this for weeks using good old-fashioned, old-school investigating. Each breakthrough is met with a setback. On a recent routine pass I noticed something on the dash. It was a CD of San Francisco’s Lemonade. What does this mean? Have these guys toured with Lemonade? Just fans? I had more questions than answers.
I picture this mystery band as more of a gritty rock ‘n’ roll throwback. Lemonade plays trippy, electronic new wave, and just released a stellar debut album that’s received good marks from Pitchfork and SF Weekly. Even more intriguing is the fact that Lemonade is already (the record is only a few months old) splicing and dicing cuts for an upcoming album of remixes with the appropriate title of Remixtape. Lemonade just released a reworked version of “Big Weekend” with Spanish elctro group Delorean. The plot thickens …
… As for the band in my apartment complex … my next move is to break into their apartment and rummage through their desk drawers for more clues … OK maybe I’ll just knock on the door and introduce myself.
